There is also the fact that a Chanel bag was always meant to be a lifetime investment , a future heirloom , rather than a simple fashion item . The older they get , the more beautiful AND PERSONAL they become ! The prices are also crippling , there are SO many other things we need to spend our hard earned cash on , but it doesn't mean you shouldn't ever treat yourself to the more affordable accessories or pair of sunglasses ! I have 7 Chanel CF’s but my favourite one is the vintage Diana I have in lambskin. It’s 30 years old, looks amazing, and the leather is the softest I’ve ever felt and I love the 24kt hardware.

I feel it’s so much about the connection we have with the brand. I love Chanel so much, I don’t see the day, I’ll stop. My SA is fantastic, I don’t even have to go in the boutique, she is texting me showing me bags. She knows I’m more into special ones , since I own many, and she tries hard to find some for me. About the colors, to me in their collections during winter we see a lot of darker colors, like burgundy or dark greens, etc. But my favorite collections are always during summer because I love lighter colors personally. I don’t have that connection with Dior, I’m just not in love with their bags. And when it comes to Hermès, I love the quality, but at the moment, there’s way too many people that want the bags and the quality of the service is getting down the drain. My SA was used to text me to offer me some items, not anymore. I feel like she’s making me a big favor when I can get a bag ( non just the quota) It’s becoming so ridiculous. When you are an established client, you cannot not notice how much it had changed over the years. So I probably feel with Hermès what you feel about Chanel ( quality taking aside). It’s a perception that we end up having about a brand. Anyway, I still love going to Chanel and I’m a big lambskin fan so it workouts well. I might be the lucky one because all my bags look beautiful and I have no quality issues with any.
I've also had great experience with Chanel on the last 4 year both in terms of quality and service. I have 4 bags and 1 WOC. I should be done but I can't help looking at their new collections

Customer service should be a given because the customer is the whole point of a business. You can’t make money selling products if you alienate the customer. There is too much competition for this to stand forever. Love your videos, Deb. Thanks for sharing!

You should come over to the U.S boutiques in Las Vegas and other cities ( except Chicago) , because they are very happy to help you and take the time to show their products. It’s a shame that we keep hearing about the Experience being bad for the European boutiques!

I only want one more Chanel bag, a white caviar mini. So that can only be found on preloved market. Although this season I saw a white trendy WOC with crystal double CC’s. It’s all the things I love, white & bling 😂 But $7600 Cdn is crazy for a WOC.

Just bought my first Chanel card holder in store this week. It’s lambskin so I don’t plan to have it be my main daily card holder. I also don’t like the customer service. I know a specific style was created for 24B, but the guy I talked to didn’t know anything about it, didn’t offer to help me find anything they didn’t have available in that store, and I essentially had to pull teeth to get him to order it for me from a different location. They need to train their salespeople better. Only pre-loved for me from here on out, even though it’s always over retail. At least you can find exactly what you’re looking for without the unhelpful attitude!

It is challenging to buy from the Chanel boutiques because of the inflated prices...they need to stop raising their prices...like that's going to happen! LOL! I am a lover of Chanel, and that's just about all I have
Fortunately, I have a great sales associate in Chanel; she is so good I almost feel guilty not purchasing more, but the prices are ridiculous now. I live in the US, so I wonder if that has anything to do with the Chanel experience for me....I don't know; like you said, "Never say never". 😊

I started buying Louis Vuitton brand new items for myself about 2 years ago, I’m definitely a LV man, recently found a pre loved seller who I’m very happy with the quality and service I receive, so I have 2 daughters in their late 30’s so I wanted to buy them a Chanel bag for Christmas, so for I’ve purchased a aged calfskin chain top handle boy bag but I feel the bag is heavy so I’m thinking of selling it back on consignment, my problem with Chanel is everything seems to look old fashioned but I’m a man so I wouldn’t be using the bag! Nothing really speaks to me!
I still love the aesthetic of Chanel but the prices and quality 🤷♀️
I recently got a small white coco handle in caviar and I'm really enjoying it. It goes with everything. The reissue is calf leather is also beautiful and durable. I agree I wish the Trendy came in caviar, it would do so well!

From what I have learned after watching countless videos is that the quality and customer service in Chanel stores is subpar at best. As a potential new customer Chanel is going to lose that group of newcomers. Where am I going? Hermes and Louis Vuitton. The designs are fun and youthful at LV and the colors of the Hermes bags are amazing. I will probably make two big purchases of luxury bags. It most likely will be from Hermes preloved and from in store at Louis Vuitton P9 30 in turquoise! I feel like the Speedy is iconic and I never tire of my SpeedyB 30 in Damier Ebene. So my first big purchase will be the P9 in 30 cm!

As much as I love Chanel Classic Flap, the decline of the quality of craftmanship, does not jjustify the exorbitant price increase, in my opinion. As long as there is a demand Chanel will continuue to increase their price points.. Eventually, the bubblle will burst, ,if it hasn''t already.

I went to Chanel today in Selfridges and I was very disappointed by both the bags and the RTW - it felt very lack lustre and the leather did not feel very luxurious. It feels like it's in transition since the departure of Virginie. I would say that Harrods has a better selection and better customer service - Alex at Bond Street is also a very good SA in the RTW and I have always had very good service there.

If I was ever going to buy a Channel bag, it'd be a toss-up between the Reissue and a 19. I prefer the lack of logo and the chain on the reissue, and I love the slouchy nature and top handle of the 19, but wonder if I'd think the chain was too heavy. Tbh, I don't really think either would work for my lifestyle, though, do it's not likely to happen. And then there's the price versus quality...
Prices are so high. I don’t find the chain heavy on the Chanel 19.
I’m tall so the mini chain length is better for me. I love my CF’s so much that I did what Amelia did and had all of my chains lengthened. I don’t plan on selling any of them but if I do the chain can always be replaced again. I’m so much happier being able to wear them crossbody and more comfortable double chained. I’m a pink and pastel nut so I love a lot of their colours. I bought my last new bag in March 2022 & don’t forsee buying a bag from boutique again. Possibly when I go to Paris at Rue Cambon.
I would def extend chain if I had a medium classic flap.
I think quality lack is a bigger problem then the price! The new bags seems to have bad reputation. And to buy prelove is gamble with all good fakes on the market.

last time i bought in a boutique was Dec 2023 when I got my pink xxl travel flap. however last time I bought a CF in a boutique was Feb 2022 at $8,200 USD and that's when I was priced out from CFs. As much as I would like more CFs I cannot justify the price let alone afford it right now. there are some colors I would like that are from older collections (mint green that je suis lou had) and maybe when they do come around I'll be able to justify/afford.
